YEAR-END REBOUND IN CONFIDENCE

The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) recovered 8.4% to 79.6 in December.

Jakarta, January 12, 2006–December Results. The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) regained strength to 79.6 in December, surging 8.4% from 73.5 in November. The big gains in December may reflect consumer convictions that the negative impact of October’s fuel price hikes are not as bad as expected before. However, despite seeing the largest single monthly gain since August 2001, confidence remains below its level of last September before the increase of fuel prices.
